What is the
May 12, 2010, status of the
meaning of "sponsorship" for orgs, press, groups, and individuals?
Morning BobK,
Meet Neil Larson, first
SCHGA historian official ...way back when! The Plaque Project is in its
second round; the first round had a big quiet space of time between it and
this second round. Neil was #24 where I was #5 in earliest org.
Neil,
Meet BobK, founder and president of Torrey Hawks, ...and about the best
regional director USHPA has seen, Region 3, recently moved a bit by a PG
block, but without slowing BobK from a great welcome spirit at Torrey
airs. Like Jack Lambie, BobK is a four-winging birdman.
BobK,
The sponsorship deal is in fuzzy stage; it will ever be voluntary in form
and quantity. Listing consent is all that is needed now. So much is in
rough planning stage at the moment. Torrey Hawks and individuals can get
in early on the listing. Just consent to the direction, idea, without any
legal obligation. Budget and costs are not known; no listed sponsor will
be obligated for even a penny. No funds have been collected. Neil and I
have been investing time. Neil has a certain set of communications,
contact, and graphic skills and experiences with landmark political
processes. I have a deep heart into hang glider publishing. Others will
have their skills and inputs that will matter. To Dos are being generated
as we speak. Neil WAS THERE with the greatest of enthusiasm and is main
tease for getting things done on the Plaque Project.
In first blush, Neil has mentioned that contributing sponsors will have
some presence on documents in the Virtual Plaque and unseen-yet presence
on physical landmark plaque. We are yet flying in the manner done at that
first great universal meeting on the hill in Newport Beach.
Neil may write more on these matters soon, after some days pass, as he is
booked with getting people's pools ready in Florida at a terrific rate of
10 pools per day. I told Neil last week about your generous Falcon 3 use
for pilots bringing their harness and helmet for Second Sundays at Torrey.
Permitting oneself to be listed is a definite first-stage contribution,
for down the line signed petitioning to State of California/ U.S.
Government will be part of the physical landmark process.
Soon,
JoeF
What is the difference between the Virtual Plaque and the target of
a physical Landmark Plaque or monument and plaque?
The Virtual Plaque for the Otto Meet 1971 is actual and being built as
we type and present and as interested parties present stories, images,
notes, and links. You are looking at the Virtual Plaque in the making. The
Virtual Plaque will continue to grow over time; each input will grow the
Virtual Plaque. The Virtual Plaque will be available to any person
on earth that has reach to the Internet. Anyone is invited to add personal
aviation color to the Virtual Plaque. That Otto Lilienthal's gift
was punctuated into a renaissance of foot-launch personal aviation by a
world-resounding blast party on the hill in Newport Beach has proven to
affect the entire world; aviation has been severely altered by the
radiance from the Otto Meet 1971 party.
The target of a physical monument/plaque will involve
petitioning political entities that must permit placement of materials on
public land. This process will certainly be forwarded by a robust Virtual
Plaque. Even if approvals are not obtained on wished time, a virtual
celebration of the eventual landmark can be celebrated. Political
processes might be slow. At least photographs of a hand-held
situation could be taken; such would forward the eventual success for the
hardcore California/National landmark. Expertise on these matters is not
yet ours. Each formal step will be chronicled in the Virtual Plaque
pages.
What is it?
The project is set to achieve two things in support of the mission to
advance hang gliding in the world:
1. Web virtual recognition for the site and
involved persons of the first great universal hang gliding meet in 1971
that honored Otto Lilienthal and personal aviation.
2. To get a
California or Federal landmark at the hill site of the meet commemorating
the birth of the renaissance of foot-launch hang gliding.
That Otto Meet has been giving lift to thousands of persons,
businesses, and organizations; we aim to get to a robust virtual plaque
and attain installation of a physical landmark plaque.
What are the coordinates of the site for the Otto Meet 1971?
[report soon]
What is OML ?
OML is the short symbol for "Otto-Meet-1971
Lift" Radiating from the Otto Meet 1971 was a
spectrum of heated energetic enthusiasms that can be understood as
a thermic lift used to extend uplifting flight in people, organizations,
events, documents, conversations, and decisions. Tracing
OML is part of this Otto Meet
Virtual Plaque project.
What is a kluge?
