27Aug2009 | Recall the complex: Dual kite system with no hard tether to ground; one is drogue generating electricity converted to laser; one is in jet stream generating electricity converted to laser; lasers send energy to earth receiver spots with smart tracking; military advances in lasers bring this more into my attention. Operations are smartly robot controlled. Ground station could be roof top of huge second-purpose food-production facility, etc. .... Notice about kite-control systems in a reverse-use operation:
Aloft control kite with resultant driving of what were formerly thought of as
control lines; the drive lines drive ground-based generator. With this
research strategy, take another look at any and all kite-control arrangements;
keep the arrangement, but initially control the aloft kite by RC or smart
robotics and then use the formerly-understood kite control system to drive the
ground-based pump or electric generator. For example, look at the
Wright Brothers quad-line control system in their patent; add smart aloft
wing-warping to that system and feel the changes in the ground points and let
those changes grind pump or electric generator.
JoeF DaveS notes with significant heads' up: "A problem with the
"reversed" control vs. power is that efficient control is primarily information,
not power, so control channels are weak compared to power channels. So a
telephone or radio link, say, is a very poor power line. OPEN for further comment from All. Notes@EnergyKiteSystems.net |

In a news item: "Wind
is an elder statesman of renewable energies. Though still small in the grand
scheme of power production, its technology is mature and proven, and its costs
are competitive." Comment:
That writer has not factored in AWE. AWE is not mature; AWE is
gestating. AWE will be born and will operate at many levels with many methods
from tiny to huge. Much AWE will be independent of major grids; yet there will
be AWE feeding national and even international super grids. AWE Intermittency
will be handled well; indeed, there will be some AWE installations that will be
100% non-intermittent; this will be news to wind energy analysts.
