- I was born in 1968 ... in a village on the coast of Barcelona.
I was lucky
that some of the first hang-gliders who came to Spain at the end of
dictatorship in 1975 ... came to my town, Teià, where there is a
beautiful
hill of 300 m level with sea views. When I saw that, I was automatically
seduced by the colored nylon wings and bright aluminum tubes, and the
magic
of flight. Before, I had only seen before old agricultural tools
directly
descended from the Roman era. The sight of hang gliders, among others,
encouraged me significantly to the study of science and engineering.
Also, ny
brother is an artist, and in my house-Lab there are many books on
Leonardo,
including a reproduction "dada" of the Mona Lisa, presides over one of
the
rooms ... I did not go unnoticed by Leonardo's passion for flying.
I think the coast of Barcelona and California have many parallels
landscape
and climate.
I am happy to participate in the fascinating history of free-gliding,
almost
from the beginning ... and able to talk (at least online) with people
like
Joe Faust.
Best for you,
Pere
