for his contributions to the sport of hang gliding.
Bill Moyes in the mid-to-late 1960s
built his own NASA-Ryan-rooted
kite-hang glider, called it a kite,
flew it,
and generously shared the experience
with the world via show, media, stunt, competing,
teaching, and manufacturing,
to help advance the extant modern renaissance
of foot-launch hang gliding.
