Tether Handling Kite systems come in great variety. The tethers involved in a system vary from short to long, from one to many. And tether vary in purpose, perhaps main, control, kill, auxiliary, bridle, etc. How are these tethers handled, managed, operated? Is tension relieved or not? How stretchy is the tether and how does that affect storage? Bagging, twist, snags, knotting, reels, winches, pulleys, swivels, etc. all play in the "tether handling" world. So, the matter is not just "kite reel" or cable drum. There is more. And each kite system deserves to have its tethers treated well. Are we handling a aged tether? Are we handling an increasingly degraded tether? Are we handling a tether in a manner that fast degrades the integrity of the tether? Present condition of the tether set? Inspection methods? Replacement schedule? Labeling tether sets? What to do with old tethers? Tether logbook. Suppliers. Storage. Detensioners. One-Person Mobile Kite Reels | | | | |
