The Wikipedia article wiki is not yet comprehensive over the topic. The wiki is slanted to recreational. The article does not yet recognize scientific, industrial, commercial, or military parasailing. The wiki does not cover the multitude of applications that could arrive from parasailing. The wiki does not face energy-production uses of parasailing. The parasailing involved in step-towing is not addressed.

History: Though the mechanical parasailing has centuries-old kiting background, the attention on use of parachutes for ascending in kite-system mode received some special recreational attention by Pierre-Marcel Lemoigne and Mark McCulloh. Their focus on modified parachutes should not block the earlier history of towed kited wings of other sorts which fit the mechanics of parasailing. Parasailing is fundamentally a kiting activity.
