- Original construction for this ship began in 1973 , although several
other Wright type models were built by Valentine using the main set of
wings, this is the finest example of Tom Valentine's diligent workmanship. -Addition of electric starter was done after purchase by new owners- The original design build by Valentine was Prop start only! The term Yellow Bird came about over the past 34 years, the original coats of Varnish on the muslin wing have aged & faded into what is yellow. -This reproduction is perhaps the closest replica to the Wright's Original build Model B - -In 1977 , it sustained damage from a crash landing, during filming of the made for TV Movie by AT&T for the 75th Anniversary of "flight" *Jack Lambie piloted this biplane, since then it has not flow. - It survives today as one of the most well built Wright biplanes, due to exhaustive detailed construction policies by Tom Valentine. |
