Kites and Fire
Caution: Playing with fire
irresponsibly may injure, kill, kill others, ruin property, or start
unwanted secondary fires. Every precaution should be made; all laws should
be respected. Herein will be described hazardous operations only to
be undertaken under the supervison responsible adult.

- Use kite systems to fight forest fires, house fires, etc. In
fire-fighting operations kite system might move materials, carry
fire-retardant, drag soil-plowing equipment, move personnel, lift hoses,
...
- A kite system might be used to set strategic fires during a
fire-fighting operation. Notes on this are welcome.
- Wings of kites may be fireproofed; line of kite systems may be of
fireproof materials.
- Then such special kite systems might be used to enter fires to set
explosives designed to change the nature of the burning as willed by
the chief commander of the fire-stopping operation.
- Such specially made kite systems might carry fuel for burning
aloft. Spewing-fire wings? Notes for peaceful practical purposes
for this system are invited to be sent tot he editor.
- Special dragon kites that spew flames might be done in a safe
manner.
- Wings of kite systems might have a fused fire-starter or a triggered
fire-starter. At the ready the wing would be set ablaze. This might be
part of a fireworks display when the environment is safe for such
operations. Perhaps over the ocean when the wind is well known and
favorable. Instead of rocketing up fireworks, consider having fireworks
sent up kited tethers for igniting aloft; could this save on the costs
for shows?
- Tether only on fire? Specially constructed kite systems might
have a tether section that holds fuel that would be ignited by trigger
or fuse; just that section would go ablaze; the base tether would be
made of materials that would retain integrity during and after the fire
occurred along the tether. All precautions for safe operations
would be made by responsible operators.
- Parts of a wing might be combustible and burnt on a schedule for
some special practical reason.
- A sliding-on-tether object that is spewing flames might fulfill some
practical purpose.
- Fires occurring on the ground may cause or trigger thermals that
would change the course of a kited wing.
- Fire may be used to burnish wood and bamboo for special craft
reasons.
- Fire may be used in kilns to dry wood and bamboo during crafting
processes.
- Fire may be used to melt the ends of some lines in the crafting
process.
