Relative of co-inventor who worked with Alexander Graham Bell on tetrahedral aircraft.

Tetrahedral two lobe kite systems, communications, aviation leader and promoter, experimenter.   Frost King   [HGAusa historian is related to Hector P. McNeil, assistant to Bell and dedicated carpenter,  model maker, and co-designer of many Bell devices. Mr. Hector P. McNeil was co-inventor for US Patent 856838  In the photo, Mr. Hector P. McNeil may be seen in photo directly below craft- with white cap facing to the right. ]

Found and confirmed in 2008 the actual site of the May 23, 1971, renaissance Otto Birthday Party. He then shared the maps and photographs for the site. Initiating California landmarking of the place: Harbor Nature Park in Newport Beach.
1953/1970
-Born & raised one block off Aviation Blvd. in south bay L.A. suburbs
adjacent to 1950's booming Aircraft & Aerospace Industrial area near LAX.

1971-
-Assisted Tom Valentine, high school friend, in construction of several "Valentine" aircraft.

-Wright 1903 gliders, Wright Flyer replica, Hang Loose inspired
Blackbird high aspect ratio aileron & rudder controlled hang glider.

'71-'73 -
-Orville & Wilbur's restaurant employee, local beach eatery housed many
*Lovejoy original paintings of man launch fantasy hang glider designs,
& also Tom Valentine's 1/13th scale replica of Wright Bros.
1903 canard forward control Glider, mounted in the ceiling of dining room.

Became "resident-authority" on all things Wright Brothers oriented,
during popular Playa Del Rey HG training launch site days.

-Flew Cronk-Kite #1 at Torrance bluffs, after assisting Dave Cronk in
assembly on top of cliff, Brother Eric Larson also flew!

-Joined original Peninsula HG Club foundation of USHPA, as charter
member #24, became first appointed "club historian" to help preserve Hang Glider History.

-Attended many early SCHGA administrative meetings with Lloyd Licher,
Dick Eipper, and Joe Faust, to organize USHGA/SCHGA properly.

-During PHGC meeting for re-naming group. Neil's submission of
(S.C.H.G.A.) as possible "club name" for new group was selected by club vote!

-Witnessed and signed original "S.C.H.G.A." Articles of Incorporation as
authorized club officer next to notary signature, on behalf of Pres. L. M. Licher.

-Frequently flew many early HGs at Playa Del Rey as "test-pilot" &
beach side SCHGA contact person (early version of club "instructor")/greeter.

-Initiated first dialog (written communications) with L.A. County
Commissioners to establish Playa Del Rey as official L.A. county training site.

-Flew early versions of many Hang Gliders, at Playa Del Rey; Seagull
/Eipperformance/ Koman Kite/ others.

-Assisted Jack Lambie in re-construction of his replica Wright Flyer
(Honda Powered!) for display in Orange Co. museum.

-Assisted Jack Lambie in construction of Conduit Condor, along with
Karen LaFrenz Lambie, Tom Lambie, Rose Lambie & Kate Lambie.

-Attended First Hang Ten-Hang Glider contest at Saddleback Mountain, a
SCHGA sanctioned event and performed duties as Official/Judge/Organizer.
