Bags in Kite Systems' Anchoring
Solutions |
- Soil-filled bags buried or stationed on ground surface
- Sand-filled bags buried or stationed on ground surface
- Water-filled bag buried or stationed on ground surface or placed in
water bodies

Water bags
- Could sit behind a soil berm.
- Bag could be gathered with other bags of water to form a large
anchor.
- Bag could use the water of a pond and also be placed in the same
pond.
- Water bags could be placed in the ocean or lake; the bags could be
anchored to seabed or seashore to stop travel.
- Look into flexible freight bags.
- Look into flexible water tanks. But load-path webbing would be part
of some solutions. We do not just want to tear a bag apart by the
tension of a kite tether.
- Pillow
Tanks & Collapsible Water Tanks These are not
designed for tethering to a kite system; but the images are teasing.
- Safety-critical considerations:
- Leaks
- Tears
- Could leaks or spills injure people or property
- Biofilm

- Anti-sliding remote anchoring.
-
- At some kite-energy sites, a water-bag might allow easy start and
easy de-commissioning where soil excavation would not be allowed.
