September 25, 2020, post by Jack Campbell A business model for a small scale kite energy power plant This is a business model for a small scale kite energy power plant: Stacked surf kites pull, in a vertical motion, a line off a generator and reel on the ground creating electric energy. Then a small electric motor and line pull on and collapse the kites pulling them back down to the starting point. Ten or more of these machines are lined up side-by-side with an owner-operator working hands-on to run this power plant. The only complex electronic device used is a drone for launching. This system avoids most all of the complex problems encountered by large scale systems. ~ Jack Campbell ================== Oct. 12, 2020 Can you make a living flying multiple ground gen surf kites at a good wind location? The worst part is how dumb simple it is and that it includes a lot of hard work. This is not a good look for the rock stars down at the the AWES but sometimes you just have to play the cards you're dealt. There is even a golden vision: Jobs for everyone in a world covered with beautiful kites pumping out blue gold like zucchinis in the summer. - Jack Campbell ===================== Oct. 15, 2020 The Flysurfer Peak 4 is the first full blown success for a single skin sport kite. It was supposed to be for the snow and now it is all over the place. People love the things and they work in so many ways with films on You-Tube. The curtain rod type depower is fast, stable and moderated. And could it, as they say about single skins, easily scale up in size to pull line off of ground generators? Smallish units all over the place to prove the saying that, "quantity has a quality all of it's own." We are going crack this nut of kite energy that's going to save this dam planet! - Jack Campbell ================== Nov. 14, 2020 A Quick Retraction System For The Simplest Possible Kite Engine: Children intuitively lay out line along the ground and then pull. Up pops the kite cross winding in vertical motion in the wind window. For energy production with this simple system the trick would be to get the kite back down quickly and rewound around a ground generator reel. One idea is to pull at the exact center of a foil kite to fold the two halves of the kite back flat against each other keeping the kites fully inflated and low drag for a quick pull down. It would then run steady like a low speed piston engine. Lift! - Jack Campbell ==================== Nov. 20, 2020 Vertical Motion Stacked And Hand Operated:
Simplicity
gone wild. There is no control system. You just pull them back
down and start again. Folding each kite back with complete
depower means a single person can control a massive square
footage. Then add more machines around the world. You guys
hate simple. Jack Campbell
================================== Nov. 29, 2020 Surf kites got angry and decided to design themselves. The the new single skin design falls down with the slightest flick thus ending the last problem of rewind for the simple ground- gen motor to save the world from everything. You can hide under your bed but they are going find you. Jack Campbell ===================== Dec. 5, 2020 Been looking at the one kite pulling another up and down - if the kites were connected by a single cross over line and one kite was flying upwards and the other down, then when the line between them became taught they would both be stopped still in the air and the angle of attack could be changed reversing the direction of each kite - then the cross over line would again become taught after they passed each other to again change direction - if this was set in the wind window you would have short crisp up and down action - Best Wishes - Jack Campbell ====================== Jan. 14, 2021 Scaie
will be human the perfect operating size - surfer size is all they
need, so power size can be 2 to 4 time larger, what a human can carry
down from a tree - God made man in his own image so go to the mirror
and wink at him (her) for me - be nice - the operator and system for
the final kite motor design will be God, work work work, so behave
yourselves - the biplane and box kite are back because the top wing
swings everything back to the vertical like dihedral - take that Red
Baron - Kiddy kites pop up cross wind, then all you have to do is pull
it back down and let it pop up again and you have a one lunger ICE
banging away in the yard - the Peak depower system of flimsy hoops that
slide together like a Concertina
my
be the quick stable system needed for rewind along with single skin low
weight low cost and wind speed - don't let those Euros win!

Jan. 20, 2021 Hello again - Thinking about the very simple PL inexpensive single skin trainer two line kite scaled up really big - with the idea of getting the maximum sq. feet up in the sky over a ground gen, moving up and down - stacked? - there is something wonderful simple about the ss after listening to PL talk about it - so many problems solved - cost, weight, pull down, and cross winding up stability - the ss is a wonderful thing and time to get aboard - how big could one man fly? I'm running out of simple --Jack Campbell ================ Streamline
your bottom or what's wrong with the birds - when a Falcon wants to go
200 mph it it folds it's wings back and becomes a bullet - but for
everyday work an unstreamlined wing bottom works best - to
helicoptoring onto to a branch or lifting straight up, those big scopes
under
the wing work great - and on a single skin kites - It's a "twofor" -
you keep the vacum lift over the top and get a parachute push on the
bottom but only until too much underwing drag kicks in - but birds and
kites are low speed aircraft and high speeds and too much wind are a
problem - "drifting" or dragging down wind on a hydrofoil board and a
Peak SS is the new fad - this is all to say I think that SS could
be the big breakthrough - Jack Campbell
=================== Jan. 30, 2021 Let's look at it this way - there is a lot of poop up there. Add on: use a bigger kite, then use two kites, then put them up higher, make them lines longer, and what is this business about cross-wind and 100 times more power - what we really need is more power so we can rip the bolts out of the concrete - and a high tech gizmo that can give us a hot 13% increase in performance and double the cost and failure rate - I see things a little different - crude can be beautiful - Jack Campbell ==== On Sunday, February 14, 2021, 11:57:37 AM PST, dave santos <santos137@yahoo.com> wrote:
Jack,
you are a VIP for understanding kites and how they can power the world.
Most kite energy folks barely know which way is up. We know from kite trains and arches how to scale up, just like harnessing horses into teams. We
call this "Kite Networks". We have figured out how to work with wind
from any direction, just like shifting playsail anchors. Imagine giant
playsails that just tilt as needed and wobble against their lines to
make power. Its that simple. Take a close look at some attached slides, and you will be caught up.
