| May 28, 2020, post by Dave Santos "Quantum Supremacy" of Passive Kite Control? A toy kite typically embodies its own flight control solutions. On the other hand, AWES kites are often conceived to depend on active digital control. While neither method is perfect, active control so far is brittle, and on average sooner fails fatally, by complex defects and failure modes. Its proposed by kPower for several years that traditional passive kite control is actually embodied quantum (or quantum analogue) computation. The kite is regarded are a quasiparticle Boson or MetaAtom. Accordingly, the apparent superiority of passive embodied control over active digital control is a model for "Quantum Supremacy". Its not a precise comparison yet, but obviously a simple inherently-stable kite is far less technologically complex than the amount of digital control needed for an inherently-unstable kite, for equivalent stability. In Turing equivalent terms, this seems like Quantum Supremacy (or at least its weaker form, Quantum Advantage). Ordinary kites may therefore be a foundational technological demonstration of Quantum Supremacy. |
