Dave Santos Kite Rigging as a Programmable Language In recent years we have learned enough about kite making/rigging to find it a rich and powerful programmable language. All great world kite traditions embody complex parallel logic-gate operations. Future kite tech may embody its own passive flight control while processing vast amounts of AWE--thermodynamic information theory come alive [Shannon, 1948]. A charming traditional milestone in computer engineering is to print "Hello World". Expect advanced kite systems to write it on the sky. We are coming full circle. The first programmable machines were string applications |
