Dave Santos Ship Mooring Safety Guidelines applicable to AWES Anchor Belaying AWES Arch Kite Topology has advantages over single-point anchoring, but the trade-off is belaying the arch ends around an anchor circle as wind direction varies. Ship mooring is a good similarity case, with similar high loadings, and verification that the belay operation itself can be quick and simple. Alpine belay methods also apply to inform the transfer of tension from one belay point to another. Ship mooring safety guidelines will apply to industrial-scale AWES operations.
